Pleading with the officer
When Sarah arrived at the room, she was relieved to see the tiny creatures again. One of the officers reassured her, saying it was a false alarm and that all the creatures were doing fine. They were healthy, and so was the adult mother.
Despite feeling hesitant, Sarah gathered the courage to ask the question that had been on her mind. “Can I take them home?” she asked, her voice filled with uncertainty. She wasn’t sure if they would allow her to take them back, but she hoped for the best.
