Tristin Chipman and Emily Saliers

Emily Saliers, a member of the musical duo Indigo Girls, met her bandmate Amy Ray during their school years. Both were passionate about music, and they eventually formed a group called The B Band, later renamed Indigo Girls. Saliers married Tristin Chapman, the band’s tour manager, in New York.

At the time of their engagement, Georgia, where the band is based, had not yet legalized same-sex marriage. The couple announced their engagement during a performance at the Vogue Theater. They also share a daughter named Cleo, and their music remains influential, with hits like Dear Mr. President and Galileo.
